Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.

He tests and evaluates cleaning appliances, focusing on mopping and robot vacuum combos. Multitaskers are ideal for those who want to get rid of mopping off their to-do lists. They feature impressive mapping and obstacle avoidance capabilities, and they can even wash and refill their mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

If you're looking for a robot vacuum best vacuum that can also mop, this is the model to go for. It's smaller than the other models on this list making it easier to maneuver through tight corners and under furniture. It comes with a 220 degree Lidar which, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, provides some of the best robot vacuum navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in the form of a robotic vacuum. It has a 4600mAh battery which can last up to 170 mins when mopping and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can run longer on turbo). It will even return to the dock to top up its battery midway through a clean.

It is very quick and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted rooms incredibly quickly and the hardwood floors in the living room, and hallways in a single sweep. The suction motor's 8,000pa will quickly pick up dirt, crumbs and pet hair. Carpet detection boosts power automatically when it encounters rugs and the dual side brushes help pull away debris from corners.

The mopping performance, though still impressive, isn't as impressive. The mop rotates quickly and uses 2.2lbs to remove dirt and stain. I've also noticed that the front arms protrude out slightly more than other robots, which is useful to maneuver around tight corners and along baseboards. The front arms can also be used to collect larger pieces of debris, like broken toys and books.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've tested. It doesn't produce as loud of a sound when mopping or vacuuming, and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a proprietary cleaning solution for its mopping function and is separate from the vacuum. It is simple to install and performs well. However, if you are buying this robot vacuum solely for mopping you must pay attention to this.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It is a powerful cleaner with a wide range of features.

The device comes with an impressive and powerful cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensors with an RGB camera to map the house and detect furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean efficiently and methodically. This leads to a thorough, consistent clean that is also quite fast.

In terms of mopping, Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can reach an array of surfaces. This includes corners, baseboards and other difficult to reach places. They also have a flexible side brush that can extend to reach the floor close to walls and other fixtures. Additionally, the mop pads can be washed and dried to avoid build-up and lessen odors.

Another noteworthy feature is the customizable options available via apps. The Q Revo lets you adjust the amount of suction and select between a back-and-forth or slightly more randomized pattern. You can also set the number of passes it should make, which will affect the speed at which the device can move around your home. You can also decide to turn off the side brush to avoid damaging carpets and rugs.

This device has a fairly high price tag but comes with a large selection of smart features. It is important to remember, however, that the device is subject to regular expenses, such as mopping supplies and regular maintenance. For example brushrolls need to be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter will need to be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad should be replaced every three to six months.

This robot vacuum that mops has an excellent rating on Amazon and offers a wide array of physical automation features. The robot vacuum cleaner uk vacuum also has a power button which doubles as a 'Clean button' and a 'Home button to send it home after cleaning. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically empty the dustbin, refills its water tank, and cleans and drys its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

If you're a busy professional or just want to have a clean home without spending hours doing chores then the Shark Matrix Plus is a good choice. Its powerful performance, smart navigation and long battery life make it easy to maintain a clean home with minimal effort.

The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop that is, it can do both vacuuming and mopping. The robot has two modules: a combined dry bin and reservoir of water, and a separate mopping module with microfiber pads that snap into and out of position. It's a little old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping, but it does mean that you don't have to fret about changing disposable bags or refilling the tank of water.

Our test participants discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job at both vacuuming and mopping. Its greatest feature was its accurate floorplan, which it uses to create a route when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate through rugs, furniture and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' and virtual barriers to stop certain areas from being cleaned by a mop.

We also found that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in removing hair of pets. It was able to collect the majority of hair shed by our cats and even got into the nooks and crevices of our stairs, where other robots struggled. It was quiet and had some lovely jingles to signalled when it was beginning or completing its task.

Its biggest drawbacks were its lack of sophistication and the need to change out the modules whenever switching between vacuuming and mopping. The app can't save multiple maps. This could be an issue if your house has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a ideal choice for people who are looking for a smart device that can vacuum and mop.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. However, it has distinct features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni's main draw is its enormous dock which doubles as a charging base and housing for two water tanks, a sink for cleaning and a 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically eliminates.

The base has several control buttons that allow you to manually start cleaning tasks, recall the robot or run the dock's automatic emptying procedure. Press two of the buttons to toggle the child lock that is a great option for parents concerned about children playing with the vacuum.

Like other robotic vacuums the X1 Omni uses its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni can sometimes get so entangled with obstacles, like an electrical cord dangling across a rug, that it gets stuck and ceases to function until you remove it manually. While this was rare but it was a very frustrating experience when it did happen and especially because the X1 Omni doesn't have an "stuck" status alert in its app.

The X1 Omni is unable to automatically switch from mopping mode to vacuuming mode during the cleaning process. You will need to manually swap between the two modes, which isn't a big deal apart from the fact that mopping pads aren't washed and dried between uses, which can lead to mildew or mold.

On the bright side it's worth noting that the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its modern and sleek base as well as mopping pad apparatus. It's a big contrast to the basic black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. It's also a welcome sight for an industry dominated by boxes.
